Here's how to get ready for your virtual physical therapy visit and what to expect.
Before Your Visit
Check your internet. A strong connection helps you see and hear clearly. If it's too weak, you may need to reschedule.
Update your app to the latest version.
Try a session first. Choose your program, answer the questions, and do a session or two before your visit.
Join on time. You can log in up to 5 minutes early. If you're more than 10 minutes late, you'll miss your visit.
Set Up Your Space
Your physical therapist may ask you to move during your visit, so set up somewhere you can move freely.
Don't join from a car. If you can't move around, your physical therapist may ask you to reschedule.
Wear comfortable clothes that let your physical therapist see the area being checked. For example, wear a short-sleeve shirt for an elbow visit.
Go hands-free. Use earbuds and prop up your phone so your physical therapist can see you move.
Find good lighting. Face a window or light source, not with it behind you.
What to Expect
Your visit is scheduled for 40 minutes and may end sooner. Your physical therapist will:
Ask questions about your condition
Watch you do certain movements. This is called a movement assessment.
Create a plan for you and go over your next steps
