Pre-visit checklist:

  • Good Wifi Connection: Make sure your internet is strong so you can see and hear clearly during the meeting. If it's weak, we might have to reschedule.

  • Be on Time: Try to join the meeting on time. You can log in five minutes early to be ready. If you're more than 10 minutes late, you will miss the meeting.

  • Don't Drive During the Meeting: Make sure you're not in a car during your visit. This helps you stay safe, focused, and able to move around easily. If you can’t move around, your physical therapist may ask you to reschedule.

  • Comfortable Attire: Dress comfortably as you may be asked to move around during the evaluation by your physical therapist. For example, if you are having an elbow evaluated, wear a short-sleeve shirt.

  • Hands-Free Setup: Use earbuds and prop up your phone so that you can easily move around on camera, enabling your physical therapist (PT) to observe you effectively.

  • Get Ready Before: Before the meeting, click on the program you want to start. Answer the questions. Do a practice session or two.

  • Update Your App: Make sure you have the newest version of the SimpleTherapy app on your phone. Sometimes it doesn't update automatically.

  • Lighting: Ensure that you are in a well-lit room. Windows offer the best natural light, but it's ideal to face them rather than having them behind you to avoid creating shadows or glare.

FAQs

Will you remind me of my visit?

A confirmation text message and email will be sent when scheduling your visit. Additionally, you will receive text reminders 24 hours, 1 hour, and 10 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment.

Do I have to be on camera?

Yes, a camera is needed for this visit so your physical therapist can properly evaluate you.

Do I need to provide any documentation from my physician?

If you have an order for physical therapy or any other information from your physician that needs to be shared with your physical therapist, you can send it ahead of time by clicking on the “care team” tab in your SimpleTherapy app. Please also have it available during your visit.

How long will my visit last?

Physical therapy visits are scheduled for 40 minutes. They will go longer but may end sooner than the scheduled time.

What will my physical therapy visit consist of?

Everyone’s visit could run different but in general, your PT will get to know your condition by potentially asking additional questions. Once your PT has a good knowledge base, they may ask you to show them certain movements and activities. This is called a movement assessment and based on those findings your PT will come up with a plan of action for you. They will then discuss your responsibilities moving forward.

How do I reschedule?

To reschedule, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the care team tab.

  2. Then, click on the pencil icon next to your visit.

You can also reschedule through the confirmation email that you received when you initially booked the visit. Within that email, look for the phrase “Need to reschedule? Click here.”

If your plans change, please remember to reschedule rather than not showing up without warning. This helps save time for everyone and opens up slots for other members.
